01Overview

Q is aimed at television, film, game and media composers, as well as music producers who want unusual sonic material for their scores. The library covers a wide range of sources, from thunderous drums and percussion to winds, vocals, ethnic instruments, glass, guitar, toys and synth landscapes. It also includes ambient atmospheres and trailer-style effects. Everything is organized into twenty-three main category folders, so you can move from pads and drones to loops and one-shot hits without digging through unrelated material.

Sound Character and Sample Content

Q combines playable melodic pitched instruments with multi-sampled one-shot percussion and effects. Its categories range from Ambient Chordal Pads and Multilayer Dreamscapes to Hong Kong Cinema, Middle Eastern and Western styles, so the palette covers both modern textures and genre-specific colors.

The library also includes a set of epic percussion loops. These sync automatically to tempo and can be played as whole loops or by the slice, which makes them practical for building rhythmic sections in a scoring session.

Workflow, Controls and Use Cases

The central interface gives one-click access to the main effects, including the EZRoom convolution, delay, chorus, filters and more. Melodic instruments include a legato mode for smoother transitions between notes in solo playing. Multilayered instruments, such as drones and dreamscapes, offer direct control over the volume, pan, tuning and envelope of each layer.

Every knob and slider can be assigned to an external MIDI CC through MIDI learn, so you can control parameters in real time from a hardware controller. Many one-shot effects, such as booms, whooshes and metal hits, are also available as 24-bit WAV files for drag-and-drop into a film mix.
