It covers a wide range of dynamics work, from transparent control to aggressive pumping, with Modern, Classic and Utility compressor styles. Pro-C 3 includes 14 compressor styles across Modern, Classic and Utility categories. Version 3 adds six new algorithms: Versatile, Smooth, Upward, TTM, Op-El and Vari-Mu.
Character modes add analog saturation, coloring and drift, with Tube, Diode and Bright options. Drive and Pre/Post routing are adjustable, so you can shape how much color the compressor adds before or after gain reduction.
Auto Threshold mode keeps compression behavior consistent regardless of input level, which suits inconsistent sources such as dialog. Host Sync pulse triggering lets you lock compression to the host tempo, with Sync, Offset (50–200%) and Pulse Length controls.
The sidechain EQ offers freely configurable multi-band filtering with Pro-Q shapes, including all-pass, and slopes up to 96 dB/oct. Metering follows the Momentary EBU R128 and ITU-R 1770 standards, and lookahead goes up to 20 ms.
Immersive surround is supported up to 9.1.6, including Dolby Atmos. Linking controls cover stereo pairs, Center (C) linking and adjustable all-channel groups for Sides, Tops and LFE.
The preset browser offers folders, search, tags, metadata and favorites, and settings can be copied and pasted between instances. Pro-C 3 also appears in the Pro-Q 4 Instance List from Pro-Q 4.10.
