Parallel Compression Without the Routing
Parallel compression is widely used in mixing, but it has usually meant duplicating tracks, setting up buses and adding clutter to a session. Manic Compressor keeps the process inside one plugin. Separate wet and dry faders let you control how much compressed signal sits against the original, which Boz Digital Labs notes gives more control than a single mix knob.
An EQ section sits alongside the faders, so you can shape the compressed signal as you blend it in. The developer presents this design as a way to get more out of compression on every track.
