01Overview

MTurboCompLE is the Lite edition of MTurboComp, a dynamics processor built around emulations of vintage analogue compressors. Each emulated unit shares the same graphical layout, so switching between models does not mean relearning the controls. The developer describes the emulations as designed with machine learning rather than manual circuit analysis. The Lite edition does not include the multiband mode or the Edit screen, so the compressor models themselves cannot be redesigned.

Compressor Models and Controls

MTurboCompLE includes over a dozen classic analogue compressor emulations in a single plugin. Each one uses a consistent interface, with added controls beyond the originals.

The Compression control sets the amount of compression with minimal change to output level. Saturation adds character, and a dry/wet control enables parallel compression without complex routing. Side-chain input, detector high-pass, low-pass and peak filters help tune the compressor to the material.

Automatic gain compensation, a safety limiter, mid/side processing and A-H snapshots are also included.

Detector, Metering and Channel Formats

The dynamic detector offers manual and five automatic release modes, true RMS and true peak hold, and look-ahead. Adjustable attack and release shapes are provided for analogue-style behaviour.

Metering covers input, output, stereo width, loudness, waveforms, bands, gain reduction and sidechain, with resizable, GPU-accelerated graphics and HDPI support.

The plugin processes mono and stereo signals, mid/side encoding, up to eight channels of surround audio, and up to 64 channels of ambisonics.
