Vintage Transistor Organ Sound and Character
Philicorda is built around the warm yet clear tone of the transistor-era GM751 organ. Its tone generation uses a top octave circuit with twelve oscillators for the upper octave, while lower octaves come from octave divider circuits. Because the notes are generated together, octaves stay in sync and avoid the phasing problems often heard in sample-based instruments.
Each oscillator produces a saw-like waveform by layering overdriven sine waves at different octaves and levels. The bias control sets the balance between these layers, which shapes the brightness and body of the sound.
