01Overview

Sonnox describes Oxford Reverb as a flexible algorithmic reverb built for precise spatial design. Its controls cover everything from small, tight room ambiences to large concert-hall effects. Early reflections and the reverb tail can be adjusted separately, and built-in dispersion, phase and absorption settings give you more ways to shape the space. Because the reverb is algorithmic rather than convolution-based, you are not limited to fixed room snapshots when building a custom space.

Early Reflections, Tail and Tone Control

Oxford Reverb separates early reflections from the reverb tail, so you can adjust the size, shape and stereo image of each part on its own. This makes it practical to build a realistic room and then change the tail for a more creative result.

An integrated 5-band reverb EQ lets you shape the tonal character of the reverb inside the plugin. You can add clarity, reduce muddiness or emphasize specific frequencies without adding another EQ to the chain.

Dispersion, Phase and Absorption for Stereo Space

The dispersion and absorption controls go beyond basic reverb shaping. Sonnox positions these settings as a way to make the reverb behave more realistically or to add unique textures.

Phase differences between the stereo signals can be adjusted to widen or narrow the sound field. This gives you a way to place the reverb more deliberately within a mix, whether you are working on vocals or synth pads.
