01Overview

The NF575 Noise Filter HD v7 is a filter effect for cleaning up unwanted noise in a mix or recording. Its high pass and low pass filters work across the full audible spectrum, with selectable slopes from 6 to 36 dB per octave. Five notch filters let you set the amount of cut, the cut frequency and the width (Q) of each band, and they can be linked harmonically to address repeating problems such as 60 Hz hum. The plugin is offered in mono and stereo versions and is built for Apple Silicon and Intel processors.

Filtering and Notch Control for Noise Problems

The high pass and low pass filters are the core of the NF575. You can choose slopes of 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 or 36 dB per octave and set the cutoff anywhere in the audible range. Steep slopes remove rumble or hiss with a sharper edge, while gentler slopes keep the change more subtle.

The five notch filters target narrow bands. For each one you set the amount of signal cut, the center frequency and the width. Linking the notches harmonically lets you address cyclical noise, such as 60 Hz hum and its multiples, with a single set of adjustments.

Processing Details and Compatibility

McDSP describes the NF575 as having zero latency algorithms, double precision processing and ultra-low latency operation, which suits both tracking and mixing. Real-time analyzers and updated high definition interfaces help you see the frequency content as you adjust the filters. Analog saturation modelling is also included.

The plugin runs on macOS and Windows, with VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats available. Mono and stereo versions are both provided.
