01Overview

The MF-108S Cluster Flux is a digital re-creation of Moog's MF-108 Cluster Flux pedal, first introduced in 2011. The original combined a dual-range bucket brigade delay line, built for very short delay times, with a multi-waveform low frequency oscillator that modulates the delay. The plugin keeps that structure and adds stereo operation, CV interconnectivity, multiple instances and presets, so the effect can be used in a modern DAW project.

Sound and Character of the MF-108S Cluster Flux

The plugin is built around a bucket brigade delay and an LFO. Together these produce a range of effects, including chorus, flanging and vibrato. Moog's developers describe the recreation as capturing both the subtle swirling of the original and its more intense flanging.

The parameters interact with one another, which the developers present as a core part of the playing experience. Changing one control can shift the result of another, so the effect rewards experimentation rather than fixed settings.

Working with the MF-108S in Your Session

The plugin supports CV interconnectivity, which lets it be modulated by other Moogerfooger plugins or sent its own modulation. Per the developer, each CV input has a digital attenuverter, and side-chain capabilities are included for further sound design options.

All parameters can be automated, and presets can be saved and managed. Multiple instances can run at once, which is useful when chaining several effects or using one instance to modulate another.
