Shimmer Reverb Sound and Character
The shimmer effect comes from an internal pitch shift in the reverb. Octave UP, DOWN and BOTH modes let you choose where the pitch-shifted tail sits, so you can move from bright, airy reverb to more complex layered textures.
The developer positions MicroFX Shimmer as a reverb suited to bright, modulated, retro-style sounds. It is designed for washes on guitars, pianos, pads and strings, where the reverb tail becomes part of the instrument's tone.
