01Overview

MFX Echos brings two delay engines from the ALM MFX hardware into a plugin format. Digi-PCM is a digital delay modeled on early digital rack units, with mono, ping pong, dual and stereo tap options. Tape-Tech is a tape-style echo with added lo-fi pitch shifting and expanded play head control. Both run the same DSP code as the MFX hardware, presented in a simplified interface.

Digi-PCM and Tape-Tech echo engines

The Digi-PCM Echo is a digital delay inspired by early digital rack delays. It offers mono, ping pong, dual and stereo tap delay lines, along with control over the depth and rate of modulation applied to the delay time. High and low cut filters let you shape the delay lines.

The Tape-Tech Echo is modeled on gritty analog vintage tape echo units. Its unique parameters include tape age, wow, a pitch shifter and a looping function. A drop-down menu gives expanded control over the play heads, and individual dry and wet controls let you balance the processed signal against the original.

Who MFX Echos is for

MFX Echos suits producers who want two distinct echo characters in one package: crisp, digital repeats and worn, tape-style repeats with pitch wobble. The Digi-PCM side covers clean rhythmic delays, while the Tape-Tech side covers lo-fi and vintage textures through tape age, wow and looping.

The plugins are available in VST3 and AU formats, so they can be loaded in any DAW that supports those formats.
