01Overview

Loop Engine 3 is built around a circular interface where you shape chord shapes, lengths, speeds and keys, then generate patterns with a single click. The developer describes it as an evolution of earlier versions, with a refreshed workflow, new polyrhythmic tools and a dedicated routing plugin. Chord Generation, Voicing and Workflow Controls

Loop Engine 3 offers three views, Chord, Loop and Voice, so you can move between high-level progression editing and detailed note control. Chords can be set across a range of inversions, lengths, speeds and keys, and each chord shape can be adjusted individually for inversion and velocity.

The plugin includes 21 chord functions, with separate Type and Tension styles available through its Advanced Mode. The Voice View adds micro-timing adjustments, note splitting and extension beyond chord shapes, and automatic passing notes. An Undo function supports quick experimentation, and the note editor offers a scrollable piano roll.

Routing Voices to Multiple Tracks

Loop Engine 3 outputs up to eight color-coded MIDI voices. The companion Loop Engine Listener plugin is loaded onto instrument tracks in your DAW, where you choose which voice feeds which track and swap assignments with a couple of clicks. Auxiliary passing notes can be enabled per voice, which helps layer basslines, arpeggios and melodies from one generated progression.
