Knockout Drums: Hard-Hitting Drum Sample Library for Kontakt

The kit is recorded with a stereo pair for each drum, top and bottom microphones on snare and toms, and separate kick and sub mics. Room microphone options are included as well, so you can choose between a large live room feel and a tighter studio sound.

The developer says the samples were captured through a 1978 Trident TSM console, and that the library was designed to suit progressive and death metal as well as rock, pop, breakbeat and dance styles.

The library provides 8 crash cymbals, 2 hi-hats, 2 rides, 7 splashes and stacks, 3 kicks, 7 snares and 6 toms.

The Master Kit presets load every sample in the library with performance features built in. The Remapper lets you create custom drum mappings, and the factory presets include common drum maps for use with existing MIDI drum loops and grooves.

The mixer routes each instrument track to any available Kontakt output and gives individual control over volume, pan, FX send and stereo width. Each channel has an FX chain with a compressor, limiter and 4-band parametric EQ. The master section adds space and delay FX sends.

The advanced settings include per-layer LFOs and 13 filter types with assignable modulation sources, along with an arpeggiator that has a velocity sequencer table.
