Sound Categories and Character

The library is split into seven themed collections. Crystal uses glass field recordings that have been twisted into glitch percussion. Cube is built from office-supply sources such as paper crunches, fax machines and water coolers. Drip starts with antique radios and turntables, then chops, splices and processes them with analog effects.

Lo focuses on kicks and low-frequency FX for bass dives, transitions and boomers. Shimmer covers sparkly percussion, risers and ambient pads. Shudder leans toward mangled, deep and nightmarish sounds for horror or dark electronic work. Tape offers low-fi analog tape sources that have been further processed.

Requirements and Use Cases

Glitch Hero needs Kontakt. It works in the free Kontakt Player (version 5.6.8 or later) and in the full version of Kontakt. The library is listed for Windows 7 or higher and OS X 10.10 or higher, with a dual-core CPU and at least 3 GB of RAM. The developer recommends an SSD or SATA drive for this library because it occupies 3.18 GB installed.

The developer positions the collection for EDM, IDM, dubstep, chillwave, downtempo, ambient and soundtrack work, as well as sci-fi sound design and interface effects for games and apps.
