Plate Reverb and Tape Delay Working Together
The core of the plugin is the interaction between a tape-based delay and an EMT-style plate reverb. The delay gives a traditional slapback echo at 15 and 7.5 ips, two tape speeds that change the character of the repeats. The plate reverb adds a rich, diffused ambiance around the signal.
Size and brightness controls shape both time-based processors, so the same two settings can move the sound from a tight, close space to a wider, airier one. Waves describes this interplay between delay time and plate reverb as the main point of difference from standard delays and reverbs.
