Sound Engine and Character
Droplet v2 uses a multi-tap delay engine with 32 stereo delay lines and proportional feedback scaling. The developer describes the randomized delay times and output pan positions as the source of its natural, water-drop quality.
Each delay line has its own low-pass and high-pass damping filters, which lets you shape how the repeats darken or thin out as they decay. A sine-wave oscillator modulates delay time, with flipped polarity between even and odd delay lines, adding movement and a unison-like detune to the sound.
The randomization seed is generated each time the plugin loads, so every instance sounds different. Lag filters on the continuous parameters keep adjustments smooth and click-free.
