Flute Sounds, Articulations and Microphone Positions

The library includes six flutes, among them a double wooden F#4 drone flute, a double Zapotec A4 clay flute, a harmony C4 flute and a quad clay flute. Each flute is covered by a range of articulations and phrases.

The sounds were captured from three microphone positions. Close mics give a drier sound with strong tonality. Mid mics are an open, blooming pair suited to orchestral blending. Far mics sound wide and cavernous, with a distant, somber quality.

The library includes about 3,000 performed melodic phrases, organized by flute, tempo (80 to 140 bpm), key and style.

Controls, Arpeggiator and FX Rack

The Kontakt interface exposes automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching and cross-fading.

An adaptable LFO offers selectable shape, target, speed, intensity, tempo sync and fade-in time. Twelve filter types can be modulated by velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position and step sequencer tables.

The arpeggiator adds control over direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration, and a key and scale lock keeps notes within common scales. The modular FX rack holds 18 DSP module types in 10 slots, and the reverb includes 99 room, hall, chamber and outdoor impulse responses plus 40 custom FX impulses.
