03In depth

Sound and character of Italo disco presets

Native Instruments describes the collection as capturing the golden era of Italo disco with retro-futuristic synths and keys. The sounds are described as shimmering and vibrant, aimed at neon-soaked dancefloor styles.

The library gathers a range of roles in one instrument: leads for melodic hooks, basses for driving low ends, pads for atmosphere and arpeggios for motion. Because the sounds come from several contributing producers, the character varies across the set.

Presets, controls and the Play Series workflow

Discoteca Keys ships with 150 customizable presets. Native Instruments positions it as part of the Play Series, which focuses on an intuitive interface, inspiring presets and real-time control.

The Play Series is designed for quick starting points, so you can load a sound and shape it live without navigating deep menus. It is a practical option for producers who want usable Italo-style parts fast.
