Sound Character and Source Recordings
The library is built on 20 cymbals of different shapes, sizes and alloys, including crashes, splashes, gongs, bells and trashes. Soundiron also recorded a stack of spent WWII howitzer artillery shells as one of the sound sources.
Each source was captured in two wide microphone positions. The close position gives detail and clarity without room colouration, while the distant position was recorded in a large hall for a lush, spacious reverb suited to orchestral scoring.
