Cyberdrive Core: Lightweight Distortion Plugin by United Plugins

Cyberdrive Core offers 64 distortion types across eight categories. Three categories focus on gear simulation: Classic emulates analogue hardware warmth, Pedal models well-known guitar pedals, and Amp covers guitar and bass amplifiers.

Other categories cover more experimental territory. Modern includes dynamic distortions and wave-folding using multiband companders. Pixel offers bit-crushing, rate reduction and glitch effects. Shape provides wave-shaping such as rectify and asymmetric clipping. Doom holds eight extreme custom distortions, and Freak includes ring modulation, FM and spectral processing.

The Control knob is the main editing point. Because each model has its own parameters, the knob changes what it controls depending on the selected type, so you can shape the character of a distortion without navigating a long list of settings.

Automatic gain compensation adjusts the output to match the input level, which makes it easier to compare models and settings fairly. Smart bypass avoids clicks and noise when bypass is automated, and it compensates for latency so the processed and dry signals stay in sync.

The plugin processes internally at 64-bit and is described as handling any sampling rate, including 192 kHz and above. Cyberdrive owners receive Core at no extra cost, and updates are free for the life of the product.
