01Overview

Current 2.0 is built around a set of parallel sound engines rather than a single oscillator design. Two spectral wavetable oscillators sit alongside an additive sub oscillator, a granular engine and a time-stretching sampler, all routed through dual morphing filters and flexible FM/AM. A distraction-free Play View gives quick access to presets through four macros and a dual XY pad, while the Stream supplies new presets, wavetables and samples as you work.

Sound Engines and Sound Design Tools

The core of Current 2.0 is its synth engine. Two spectral wavetable oscillators offer more than 40 warp effects, and a granular sampler provides more than 250 grains. An additive sub oscillator is tuned for low-end, and the multi-mode sampler supports time-stretching.

Sound shaping happens through dual morphing filters with more than 50 modes and FM/AM routing with feedback. A mixer panel with solo and routing options helps you balance the engines. Nine premium effects can be loaded into nine effect slots, with copy and paste between slots and full-rack or per-effect sub-presets.

Workflow, Modulation and MIDI Tools

Modulation uses envelopes, LFOs, curve sequencers, envelope followers and macros. Nine swappable modulator slots support copy and paste, and a drag-and-drop system highlights connections. An integrated modulation matrix popup handles more detailed routing, and MPE and standard keyboard modulation sources are both supported.

On the MIDI side, the arpeggiator offers more than 40 melodic and rhythmic modes, and the chord generator includes more than 30 chord presets. Chords can be routed into the arpeggiator, or the arpeggiator into chords.
