Carbon Electra 2: Scale-Aware Synth Plugin by Scaler Music

Scale Lock is the core idea of Carbon Electra 2. With a scale selected, oscillators can lock to scale degrees rather than only traditional pitch values, which keeps stacked oscillators and filter movement in tune with your music. Filter 2 uses the scale, chord or interval relationships to shape its resonant band-pass bank.

The Waveterrain oscillator mode is a newer alternative to wavetable synthesis. It moves a harmonic curve over a 3D terrain surface, and you can upload your own terrain images in .png format to create custom behavior. Classic analogue waveforms and wavetable modes are also included.

The note and chord sequencer can write freely in chromatic mode or stay locked to the chosen scale. Chord mode supports diatonic chord programming, extensions and inversions, which suits riffs, basslines, arps and evolving harmonic patterns.

A separate multi-shape step sequencer can be assigned to multiple parameters and runs independently of the note sequencer. Three LFOs and two envelopes feed the same modulation system. The five effect slots offer delay, distortion, chorus, EQ and reverb, and each slot can use any of them, including repeats, and the stack can be reordered.
