Oscillators, Unison and Filters in Spire

Spire offers four multimode oscillators with waveform types including Classic, Noise, FM, AMSync, SawPWM, HardFM and Vowel. Each oscillator can run up to nine unison voices, and the unison voices can be spread across chords and octaves. Reveal Sound notes that the unison engine can imitate types such as supersaw and hypersaw.

The two multimode filters use analogue and digital filter types, with named models including Perfecto, Infecto, Acido, Scorpio, Combo and Shaper. The filter section is the main tool for shaping the tone of a patch once the oscillators are set.

Modulation, Effects and Workflow

The modulation system includes four macros, four envelopes, four LFOs with morphing shapes, two steppers and an arpeggiator. A 15-slot modulation matrix lets each slot route two sources to four targets, which allows detailed control over movement in a sound.

The built-in FX processor covers shaper and decimator, phaser and vowel, chorus and flanger, delay and reverb. A multiband compressor and a three-band EQ are included for adding weight to a sound. The interface offers five themes and UI scaling at 100, 150 and 200 percent for high-resolution displays.
