CLA Bass: Multi-Effect Bass Processor by Waves

CLA Bass covers a wide range of bass tones, from low-end weight to aggressive grit. Compression can level the lows for a longer, more even sustain. The EQ can boost the bass, add top-end presence, or trim either region, so you can shape the tone around the rest of your mix.

Sub-bass boost adds weight for club-style or dance material. The distortion effect can be pushed toward a growling, roaring or ripping character, which helps a bass cut through dense arrangements. Stereo chorus, widening and spreading add width and a fuller bass image.

The plugin is organized around six effects, each with three modes. The six faders give direct control over the processing, which Waves says lets you dial in a sound in seconds.

Because the controls are grouped into a small set of faders rather than many separate parameters, CLA Bass suits a quick starting point for a bass sound that can be refined afterward.
