CineWinds Pro: Orchestral Woodwind Library for Kontakt by Cinesamples

CineWinds Pro is made up of new orchestral woodwind samples. Beyond the standard orchestral woodwinds, it includes alto flute and contrabassoon, along with a selection of ethnic woodwind instruments. The developer says the performances were recorded by William Lyons on the exact instruments he played in several film scores.

The Adaptive Legato Engine detects your playing speed and adjusts the interval speed to match, so slow lines and fast runs can sit in the same performance without touching the speed control. The intensity parameter responds to velocity, and the VEL / ATTACK function makes lower velocities produce a slower attack.

The mapping tab includes a new area for customizing articulation workflows. The Accent Overlay layers Marcato, Staccato or Spiccato articulations over the attack of sustains, and ACCENTED LEGATO applies that layer to legato transitions.

The Vibrato fader sets a variable crossfade speed into and out of vibrato samples and defaults to CC2, but it can be assigned to any controller. Quantize Mode calculates the legato lag and applies the same delay to non-legato samples, so quantized performances keep consistent note timing. An Ensemble Patch combines the alto flute, English horn, bass clarinet and contrabassoon.
