Sound, Recording Position and Articulation Control
The ensemble was recorded on the MGM scoring stage, with the tubas and euphonium placed just to the right of the usual French horn platform and still left of center. Cinesamples notes that this position pairs well in stereo with a trombone section placed to the right.
The Mapping tab lets you customize articulations. By default, the sustain pedal plays monophonic legato transitions and the mod wheel controls dynamics. Without the sustain pedal, velocity controls the dynamics of staccato samples. Two green key switches trigger doubled and tripled staccato notes, as in other CineSymphony libraries.
Accent behavior is also adjustable. The accent overlay is on by default to add an accent at the start of legato passages, and accented legato adds accents to later notes in a legato phrase when velocity reaches 100. Both can be turned off and the overlay volume adjusted. The Settings tab offers legato and dynamics controls, including turning legato off for chordal playing.
