This upgrade is for existing owners of McDSP Channel G v6 who want the v7 version of the channel strip. Channel G combines a console-style dynamics section with a five-band equalizer, so a single plugin can handle filtering, gating, compression and tonal shaping on a track. The v7 release adds optimization for Apple Silicon and recent Intel processors, updated high definition interfaces and new presets. Mono and stereo versions are both included.

Dynamics, EQ and Filters in One Channel Strip

The plugin is built from a dynamics section and an equalizer section that can be used together or on their own. The dynamics section includes a full-featured expander and gate along with a compressor and limiter. The compressor and limiter can run before or after the EQ section, which changes how the equalizer reacts to the compressed signal.

The filter section offers high pass, low pass and notch modes with selectable slopes from 6 to 24 dB per octave. The five-band EQ provides shelving and parametric sections for broad or precise tonal shaping. Analog saturation modeling adds harmonic coloration to the signal path.

Metering and Processing Details

Channel G includes real time analyzers to help you see the effect of your changes as you make them. The plugin uses zero latency algorithms and double precision processing. Both features are listed by the developer as part of the v7 design.
