Sound Engine and Stroke Control
Borsta uses parallel envelope and event sequencers to set when a stroke starts, how its pressure or speed changes over time, and when it ends. Klevgrand says each instrument is based on more than 400 samples recorded at different velocities with round robins, which helps avoid a repetitive feel.
The instruments also include multi-sampled one-shots with choking, so you can add accents on top of the sequenced strokes. Separate volume and velocity curve controls for each sound type let you shape the balance of the kit without leaving the plugin.
Room simulation with nine rooms and a reverb with six algorithms and adjustable decay time provide space and ambience. A timbre control for harmonics, overall pitch and a three-band equalizer complete the tonal shaping options.
