01Overview

BLEASS Motion EQ follows a graphic equalizer model, but its three bands have adjustable widths, so you choose which range of frequencies each band affects. The same bands can also act as low-pass, band-pass or high-pass filters through their mute controls. Its two LFOs can modulate band cutoff frequencies and cut or boost amounts, and they can sync to your DAW's tempo for rhythmic tonal movement.

Best for

  • Rhythmic filter sweeps
  • Evolving pad movement

LFO-Driven Tonal Movement and Sync

The motion side of the plugin is a pair of LFOs, each with selectable waveforms including sine, triangle, saw-tooth up and down, square and sample-and-hold. In beat sync mode, the LFO cycle length is set in note values from 32 bars down to a 1/32 note. In free mode, the rate runs from 0.03Hz to 10Hz.

Each LFO can target EQ parameters, and LFO A can also target LFO B's parameters and vice versa. A stereo setting creates a phase offset between left and right channels, and a two-part meter shows how strongly each channel is affecting its target.

Band Routing and Multibus Output

Each band has an output bus selector. Bus 1 feeds the track where the plugin is inserted, and buses 2 and 3 can be routed to other tracks in your project. The developer describes this as making the plugin operate like a crossover.

BLEASS states that Ableton, Bitwig and Pro Tools can route each band to a separate channel, and that AUM on iOS offers multibus routing as well.
