01Overview

BLEASS Arpeggiator is built to take a classic synth arpeggiator further. Instead of only up-and-down monophonic lines, it offers polyrhythms, polyphony and a large set of configurable rhythmic patterns. Its interface is designed for changing arpeggios on the fly, and performance controllers such as the mod wheel and XY pads can modulate its parameters. A cut-down FM synth is included for sounds, or the plugin can send MIDI to any instrument in your project.

Best for

  • Melodic synth arpeggios
  • Evolving polyrhythmic patterns
  • Live performance modulation
  • FM-style arpeggiated leads

Performance Control and Modulation

The Performance tab routes incoming controller messages to the arpeggiator's parameters. The mod wheel responds to CC1, and two XY pads each generate X and Y modulation values at the same time, so you can drag one control point to shape several parameters together.

A pair of LFOs and the Motion Sequencer can also modulate parameters. The Motion Sequencer lets you sequence patterns of values and apply them to up to two parameters, which allows evolving arpeggios that change over time.

Arpeggiator Controls and Built-In FM Synth

The Arpeggiator tab sets the rate, reset behavior and rhythmic pattern. Reset can follow the DAW's beat or a specific incoming MIDI note. The Pattern dial offers 62 rhythmic patterns, or it can be turned off. Polyphony and velocity settings determine how the generated notes are built.

The built-in synth is a stripped-down FM design. Its sine oscillator is modulated by two FM oscillators, which are described as modulators attached to the main carrier. You can use it alone, layer it with another synth, or disable it and send MIDI to an external instrument.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

What formats does BLEASS Arpeggiator support?

BLEASS Arpeggiator is available in VST3, AU, AAX and Standalone formats. It runs on Windows and macOS.

What do I need to run BLEASS Arpeggiator?

It is not a standalone product in practice and requires a host DAW. It is compatible with VST3, Audio Unit and AAX compatible DAWs, and it supports M1 and M2 chips.

Does BLEASS Arpeggiator work in GarageBand?

No. It is not compatible with GarageBand for macOS because that host does not support MIDI FX plugins. It also works as a synth in all DAWs except Logic Pro, where it is used as a MIDI FX.

Can I use BLEASS Arpeggiator with my own synths?

Yes. Each instance creates its own MIDI source that can be routed to any instrument within your project.
