01Overview

BLEASS Motion FX takes an effects-first approach to sound design. Each instance hosts one of eleven effects, from low, high and band pass filters to a pitch shifter, ring modulator, bit crusher and delay. A motion sequencer then moves the main parameter of that effect over time. The developer describes the plugin's CPU usage as very low, which allows multiple instances to be loaded in one session.

Effect Types and Sequencer Control

Motion FX includes 11 effects: Low Pass Filter, High Pass Filter, Band Pass Filter, Volume, Pan, Pitch Shifter, Frequency Shifter, Ring Modulator, Warmth, Bit Crusher and Delay. Each effect has one parameter linked to the sequencer, along with one or more secondary controls.

The sequencer runs from 4 to 16 steps. Each step has a value and a curve, chosen from Step, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, Ramp and Smooth Ramp. Resolution sets each step's length from 1/32 bar up to 4 bars, and Randomness sets the range that random values are drawn from.

Workflow and Effect-Specific Controls

Grid Snap keeps step values aligned to the displayed grid when you edit them. Smooth sets the interpolation time between steps, and Reset returns all steps to the defaults for the selected effect.

The Pitch Shifter modulates pitch within plus or minus 12 semitones and can quantize to Chromatic, Major or Minor scales. The Delay uses a 0 to 50 ms time range, with feedback, Ping Pong, stereo offset and a dry/wet control. The random preset generator affects only the currently selected effect.
