Chord Memory and Pattern Sequencing

Cream's chord memory lets you play complete chords from a single note. It has 16 memory slots, and chords can be saved as presets, inverted with the inversion tool, or copied and pasted between slots.

The pattern sequencer works on top of this. Each track holds 12 patterns that can change automatically, so simple pattern snippets can be combined into more complex sequences. Patterns can also be switched through a control zone using an external MIDI keyboard or MIDI clips.

Tracks and Pattern Controls for Sequence Design

Cream provides four independent tracks, each with its own key area and MIDI input and output. Four separate MIDI engines can run at once, so each track can produce a different output, and two tracks playing together can build layered sequences.

Every pattern has nine step data controls, arranged in tabs, that shape the incoming MIDI stream. Each step data section has its own looper control, so a parameter such as LENGTH can advance in a different direction from the others, which allows polyrhythmic and evolving results.
