Signature Hip Hop and Pop Keys Sound

Native Instruments describes the sounds as the downsampled, heavily processed synths that 40 is known for. The collection spans lush pads, dreamy harmonies, bottom-heavy bass and leads, all in one instrument.

Each preset includes a range of creative effects, including amps, cabs, reverbs and delays. These let you change the shape and presence of a sound, so the presets can serve as a starting point rather than a finished tone.

The collection was created and masterminded by Noah “40” Shebib, and the sounds were recorded and produced at his studio.

Presets, Macros and Workflow in Kontakt

The instrument contains 150 presets. The dedicated “40” macro gives quick control over the underwater character of a sound, which is useful for adding atmosphere without editing each effect by hand.

Because it is part of the Play Series, the interface is built for real-time control and quick access to the presets, which suits playing parts live into a DAW.

It is also designed to pair with 40's Very Own Drums, which offers over 200 drum sounds for building hip hop beats alongside the keys.
