01Overview

Trance Four is the expansion for VPS Avenger covering trance sound design. Its content centers on 141 Avenger presets, supported by 132 arp patterns, 23 drumkits and sequences, and a set of wavetables, shapes, multisamples, multiloops and granular samples. The developer says the pack was created by Manuel Schleis and Alan Morris, who have worked together on the Trance collection. Because the library is large, it works as a broad starting point for both sound design and rhythmic programming in the genre.

03In depth

Presets and sound design content

The core of Trance Four is its set of 141 Avenger presets. Vengeance Sound describes them as covering uplifting leads, euphoric pads, arpeggiated sequences, cutting basslines and vocal phrases that sync to tempo and adapt to pitch.

The pack also adds 7 new wavetables and 22 new shapes, which give you additional raw material for building your own patches inside Avenger. Use the presets as finished starting points, then adjust the oscillators and modulation to fit your track.

Arps, drums and samples for trance production

Trance Four includes 132 new arp patterns, which is the largest part of the rhythmic content. These can drive melodic sequences or be used as a basis for your own edits.

For percussion and rhythm, the expansion offers 23 new drumkits and sequences. The sample content includes 50 new multisamples, 2 new multiloops and 40 new granular samples, giving you material for textures and layered sounds.

The developer notes that the content is large enough to be considered two expansions in one, which makes it useful for producers who want a wide range of trance sounds from a single pack.
