03In depth

Sounds and contents of EDM 4

The pack adds 133 Avenger presets, which form the core of the expansion. Alongside them come 31 new drumkits and sequences, 7 new wavetables, 5 new granular samples, 87 new multisamples and 30 new oscillator shapes.

The developer describes the collection as covering the styles most associated with contemporary dance music, from high-energy Bigroom and Hard Techno to the melodic textures of Trance and Melodic Techno. Because the expansion mixes presets with raw building blocks such as wavetables, multisamples and oscillator shapes, it suits both quick auditioning and deeper sound design.

Who EDM 4 is for

EDM 4 is aimed at producers making dance-oriented tracks who already use Avenger. The pack works as a source of ready-made leads, basses, pads and rhythmic material, and the drumkits and sequences can help with building grooves.

Because the expansion requires VPS Avenger 2, it is best suited to producers who have already chosen that synth as part of their workflow and want to extend its sound library.
