01Overview

Dark Element is a preset bank built for VirtualCZ, the phase distortion synthesizer from Plugin Boutique. It was created by Bristol-based DJ and producer D Product, who designed the sounds to be usable across electronic genres while leaning toward a drum and bass sound. The developer links the CZ-style character to the sound of late-1990s jungle, and the pack is aimed at producers who want that flavor in a modern project. The pack requires the full version of VirtualCZ to run.

What Is Inside the Dark Element Preset Bank

The pack contains 64 presets grouped by type. There are 16 basses, 11 leads, 7 pads, 16 FX, 8 sequences, 5 keyboards and a single bell sound. The mix gives you a starting point for most parts of a track, from low-end lines to melodic leads and atmospheric textures.

Because the categories are separated, you can build a full arrangement from one bank. Sequences can serve as rhythmic or melodic motifs, while the FX presets can add movement or transition sounds between sections.

Sound Direction and Genre Fit

D Product states that the presets were designed for use across many genres, with a lean toward drum and bass. The listed genre suitability includes drum and bass, dubstep, electro, EDM, techno, tech house and ambient.

The developer describes the sound as futuristic. Producers working in darker electronic styles or looking for CZ-based sounds with a jungle influence will find the bank most relevant.
