VirtualCZ Expansion Pack: Casiology is a 64-preset expansion for the VirtualCZ phase distortion synth by Plugin Boutique. It offers classically inspired 80s synthwave sounds across basses, keyboards, leads, pads, plucks, synths, FX and drums.
Casiology is a preset expansion pack built for VirtualCZ, the phase distortion synthesizer from Plugin Boutique. It draws on the sound of the original CZ series and uses VirtualCZ's newer features to extend that character. The collection contains 64 presets in categories that cover the full range of a typical arrangement. The developer describes the sound as an authentic 80s synthwave style, and says the presets were designed to work together across genres including house, electro, pop and electronica.
Plugin Boutique says Casiology revives the classic sound of the original CZ series and applies it to VirtualCZ's features. The presets aim for a synthwave flavor with neon-tinted tones, suited to producers who want a retro electronic color in their tracks.
The developer notes that many of the presets respond to aftertouch, which gives keyboard players more expressive control over the sounds during performance and recording.
The pack is organized into eight categories: 18 basses, 8 keyboards, 5 leads, 16 pads, 6 plucks, 6 synths, 3 FX and 2 drums. This spread covers the core building blocks of an electronic track, from low-end lines and chord sounds to melodic leads and percussive hits.
Because the presets were designed to complement each other, they can be combined within one project and kept consistent in tone.
