Sound and Recording Approach

The kit was captured at Ingrid Studios in Stockholm, where XLN built a custom, near-anechoic space for the recording. Each drum was dampened using classic methods, which removes most ringing and room reflections from the source.

Because of this treatment, the close and overhead microphones are described as uniquely dead. The room microphones are still available if you want to blend some ambience back in.

The pack includes 3 kick drums, 4 toms, 2 snares and 7 cymbals, plus auxiliary percussion such as a wood block, tambourine, cowbell, claps and finger snaps.

Mixing Dead Drums in Addictive Drums 2

Addictive Drums 2 gives you multi-sampled drums and detailed control over each kit piece. This pack is designed for that workflow, so you can shape individual drums rather than working from fixed loops.
