01Overview

Fairfax Vol. 2 is the second half of XLN Audio's Fairfax collection. Like Vol. 1, it was recorded at Fairfax Recordings, formerly known as Sound City, a Los Angeles studio that has been used for many well-known albums since 1969. The pack centers on a late-1960s Gretsch Round Badge kit, paired with the studio's room and vintage microphones. It includes 30 presets aimed at pop, rock, folk and indie production.

The core of the pack is a 1960s Gretsch Round Badge kit, which the developer describes as round and full in tone. XLN Audio says the sound is warm and punchy, and that the kit combines well with the room sound captured at Fairfax Recordings.
