Tape Toys (Triaz Expansion) is a preset and sample expansion by Wave Alchemy for the Triaz drum instrument, with 80 presets and 864 drum and melodic samples. It also includes WAV loops, stems and kit one-shots for use in any DAW or sampler.
Tape Toys is built around the sound of cassette tape recordings and toy instruments, aiming at crunchy drums, quirky beats and retro-style melodic loops. The collection covers punchy kicks and snares, percussion, hi-hats, cassette-warped effects, synth sounds and melodic loops. Each sound is designed for producers working in lo-fi styles who want playful textures to start from.
Loading Tape Toys into Triaz gives you 80 presets to work from. Wave Alchemy describes the drums as characterful and crafted for quick results, and the presets are meant to be layered, processed, mixed and refined inside Triaz.
Because the presets sit inside Triaz, you keep full control over each element. The developer notes that you can export your beats as audio or MIDI with a single click.
Beyond the Triaz presets, the expansion includes 960 drum kit one-shots, 922 drum stems captured from the 80 Triaz presets and 80 full drum loops in WAV format. All included samples are provided as standard WAV files for any DAW or sampler.
The stems and loops let you use the Tape Toys material without opening Triaz, which suits producers who build beats in a sampler or sequencer.
