Psy 2 - VPS Avenger Expansion is a preset expansion pack from Vengeance Sound that adds 134 Psytrance-oriented presets, drumkits, arp patterns and wavetables to VPS Avenger. It requires Avenger v1.8.0 or later.
Psy 2 is the second Psytrance-focused expansion for VPS Avenger from Vengeance Sound. It covers basslines, leads, effects, plucks, pads and drumkits, along with more than 70 new arpeggio melodies. The sounds were built by sound designer Marcel Seifer, who describes the collection as a set of modern Psy sounds that are ready to use. The developer also notes that the presets can work in related genres such as EDM and conventional Trance. The expansion requires the latest version of Avenger to run.
The pack's core is 134 Avenger presets spread across basslines, leads, effects, plucks and pads. Vengeance Sound describes the basslines as tight, which suits the rhythmic, driving low end typical of Psytrance.
Beyond presets, Psy 2 adds 40 new osc-shapes and 12 new wavetables. These give you raw material to shape sounds further inside Avenger, so the library can serve as a starting point for your own patches as well as a finished set of sounds.
Psy 2 includes 16 new drumkits and sequences, which can anchor a track with Psytrance-style percussion. It also adds 73 new arp patterns, extending the arpeggio melodies that are central to the genre.
With 22 new multisamples, the pack widens the range of source material available in Avenger for building instruments and performance patches.
