Drum Kit and Trigger Sounds for Metal Production

The ADpak is built around a metal-specific kit that uses pieces from Ludwig, Gretsch, Zildjian and Sabian. The kick is a 22 by 18 inch Ludwig Classic Maple, and the snare is a 14 by 5 inch Gretsch Hammered Chrome over Brass. Five Ludwig Classic Maple toms, a Zildjian New Beat hi-hat and nine cymbals round out the kit, including splashes, crashes, china cymbals and rides.

The trigger sounds for kick and snare are designed to be played alongside the acoustic samples. Layering them adds edge and attack, a technique XLN Audio notes is common among metal producers.

Presets for Metal Sub-Genres

The 31 presets were made by working metal producers, including Roberto Laghi, Björn Gelotte of In Flames, and David E.K. of Fuge. The presets cover heavy metal, death metal, speed metal and other sub-genres.
