LoFi House 1 - VPS Avenger Expansion is a preset expansion by Vengeance Sound for the VPS Avenger synthesizer, containing 137 presets built around lo-fi, gritty sounds.
LoFi House 1 is an expansion pack for VPS Avenger from Vengeance Sound. It focuses on raw, unpolished sounds, drawing on the character of old tapes, vinyl and vintage samplers. The pack includes drumkits, drum sequences, granular samples, multisamples and oscillator shapes and wavetables. The developer positions it for House, HipHop, Techno and LoFi producers who want a dirtier, warmer texture in their tracks.
Vengeance Sound says the expansion captures the traits of ageing tape, vinyl and vintage samplers. The sounds are built around warm noise, hum, flutter, crackle, distortion, low-resolution samples and bitcrushed artifacts.
The content covers drums, pianos, pads, arpeggios, synths, effects and vocals. The developer describes these as wonderfully sampled old sounds meant to add grit and dirt to a production.
The expansion contains 137 Avenger presets. These break down into 28 new drumkits, 28 new drum sequences, 16 new granular samples, 111 new multisamples and 11 new oscillator shapes and wavetables.
The drumkits and drum sequences give a ready starting point for rhythm, while the multisamples and granular samples cover melodic and textural material. The wavetables and oscillator shapes are useful if you want to shape the lo-fi character inside Avenger itself.
