Sound and Character of the KorgVibrant Phaser
The phaser combines six two-pole all-pass filters with a global feedback path. The result is three pronounced notches in the spectrum with smooth but strong resonant peaks beside them. Sinevibes describes the sound as analog-inspired.
At low feedback the effect stays subtle and moving. As feedback rises, the resonant peaks become more prominent and the sweep takes on a vocal-like quality, which suits pads, chords and sustained leads.
The LFO is a triangle wave and moves the center frequency between 800 and 3200 Hz, covering exactly two octaves.
