Granular Cloud Character and Freeze Performance
The core of KorgAlbedo is its granular engine. Incoming audio is written to a buffer, and up to 16 grains are read back from random positions and at random sizes. Mixed together, these grains create the "cloud of sound" effect that gives the plugin its name and its character.
The freeze function stops the buffer from updating and keeps the granular cloud playing. Sinevibes describes this as a performance tool, since you can keep the frozen cloud running while layering the original input signal on top of it.
