Sound and Character of the Ensemble Delay
The core of KorgIsomer is a set of delays that feed into each other. The developer notes that the mutual phase offsets between the four LFOs, combined with subtle feedback, give the delay tail a smooth, musical detuning effect similar to a chorus ensemble.
Because the modulation runs in opposite directions on the left and right channels, the effect also widens the stereo image. Sustained pads, plucks and leads can gain a sense of motion without losing their pitch focus.
