KorgInteger delay preset by Sinevibes for Korg minilogue xd synth

KorgInteger: Bucket-Brigade-Style Delay for Korg Synths

KorgInteger is a digital-analog modeling delay preset from Sinevibes for Korg hardware synthesizers, including the minilogue xd, prologue, NTS-1 and microKORG2. It uses variable sample rate technology to emulate analog bucket-brigade delay.

01Overview

KorgInteger brings a delay effect to a small set of Korg hardware synthesizers. The developer describes it as built on variable sample rate technology, the approach used by analog bucket-brigade chips. Delay time is produced by changing the speed of an internal read and write clock through a small fixed buffer. Sinevibes says this affects sampling resolution, so the sound degrades as the delay time increases. Feedback runs through amplification, low-pass and high-pass filters, and a limiter that lets the loop repeat without distortion.

Sound Character and Delay Behavior

Because the delay time is set by clock speed, changing the time shifts the pitch of the repeats in a way that resembles tape. Sinevibes says the pitch glides during delay time changes do not affect the material already in the loop. This behavior is what produces the classic dub delay effect.

The degradation that comes with longer delay times is part of the design. Repeats become more lo-fi as the time increases, which suits dub, lo-fi and experimental processing where the decay is part of the sound.

The feedback section includes filtering and a limiter, so the loop can run for a long time without the signal breaking up.

Parameter Response on Korg Hardware

Sinevibes says each parameter has an individually chosen mapping, which it describes as giving a very natural feel when turning the knobs. Built-in lag filters smooth parameter changes, which the developer says reduces noise during adjustment.

The plugin is calibrated for Korg's hardware platform, and the developer says each supported device type was tested and optimized for performance and stability.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

What do I need to use KorgInteger?

KorgInteger requires a minilogue synth. The developer lists compatibility with the KORG minilogue xd, prologue, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2.

Which Korg devices is KorgInteger compatible with?

Sinevibes lists the KORG prologue, minilogue xd, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2. The developer notes it works only with these hardware synthesizers.

Is KorgInteger a delay effect?

Yes. It is a digital-analog modeling delay that emulates analog bucket-brigade delay with feedback, filtering and a limiter.
