Dubstep 1 - VPS Avenger Expansion is a preset expansion pack by Vengeance Sound for the Avenger synthesizer. It adds 144 presets along with new drumkits, drum sequences, multisamples, oscillator shapes and wavetables.
Dubstep 1 is aimed at producers who work in bass-heavy electronic styles and want fresh sounds for Avenger. The pack is built around dubstep-oriented material: wobbling basses, drums, stabs and subs. Beyond the presets, it includes a set of raw source material, so you can build your own patches from the included multisamples, oscillator shapes and wavetables. The developer says Macro buttons and the modwheel are assigned across the presets for hands-on control of the sound.
The expansion contains 144 Avenger presets. Alongside them is a substantial set of building blocks: 25 drumkits and 25 drum sequences, 102 multisamples, 22 oscillator shapes and 92 wavetables.
Because the pack includes both finished presets and raw components, it works as a starting point for sound design as well as a ready-to-play library. The drum material is meant for the same aggressive, dubstep-style groove work as the presets.
The Developer describes the pack as a collection of brutal wobbles, beats, screams, robots, drones, stabs and subs. The multisamples and wavetables give you source sounds to reshape with Avenger's synthesis tools, while the 22 oscillator shapes provide raw waveforms for layering or modifying.
Assigned Macro buttons and modwheel mapping on the presets let you shape movement and intensity in performance without digging through the full signal path.
