Mallet and Stick Drum Sounds

The pack's kit is played with both felt mallets and sticks, giving you two distinct playing styles in one set of sounds. XLN Audio says the drums were recorded with the snares both on and off, so you can choose a more open or a tighter snare character depending on the groove.

The kit uses Wacco shells, described by the developer as handcrafted from heat-treated maple with a natural satin oil finish and maple hoops with rope tuners. Extra thick drum heads are used, which XLN Audio says produce a warm tone with a big, dense attack.

Kit Contents and Cymbals

Boutique Mallets includes a 22x14 inch Wacco Old School kick, two 14x6 inch Hip Custom snares (snares on and off), and four toms: two 13x9 inch and two 16x16 inch Wacco Old School toms, each in high and low tuning.

The cymbal set uses Meinl Byzance pieces, including a dual hi-hat played with sticks, extra thin 18, 19, and 20 inch crashes and a 20 inch stick-played crash, and a 21 inch transition ride. A Meinl claves sound is also included.
