01Overview

Americana Sticks is aimed at producers who want an earthy, organic drum sound for roots and rock-leaning music. The pack is derived from the BFD Horsepower expansion and reimagines a Gretsch USA Custom kit played with sticks. BFD describes the sound as grungy and authentic, suited to country, neo-folk and vintage rock productions. It runs inside BFD Player, so it works as an add-on to the BFD drum library rather than as a standalone instrument.

Kit Layout and Drum Voicings

The kit centers on a 20x14 inch Gretsch USA Custom kick, with a 16x16 inch floor tom, a 13x9 inch mid tom and a 12x8 inch high tom. A 14x5 inch Gretsch USA Custom snare completes the drums.

The cymbal set includes a 21 inch Zildjian A-Custom ride, a 20 inch Zildjian A-Custom crash, a 14 inch Sabian AA hi-hat and a 19 inch Zildjian K Dark crash. Together these give a full kit for building rock and country-style patterns from the same instrument.

Who Should Use It and What You Need

Americana Sticks suits producers working in country, neo-folk and vintage rock who want a drum sound that feels played rather than polished. BFD says the pack lets you move from smooth, sparse grooves to a more energetic feel within one kit.

The pack requires BFD Player 1.1.0 and the BFD host. It is not compatible with BFD3.
