Atmospherica 1 - VPS Avenger Expansion is built entirely from granular synthesis and covers a wide range of sounds, from pads and basslines to drones, vocals, drums and ethnic instruments. Vengeance Sound says the pack was created with input from Manuel Schleis and Andy Hinz. Its presets are grouped by mood, including sadness, tension, mystery, adventure and horror, and the developer describes them as suited to cinematic, trance, ambient, techno and trailer music.
The pack contains 145 Avenger presets built on granular loops and textures. Vengeance Sound describes each preset as carrying a particular mood, so you can start from an emotional direction rather than a waveform.
The library includes 441 granular samples, 145 instrument and air patches, 121 synth and FX sounds, and 81 drones and cluster patches. Together they cover atmospheres, pads, vocals, ethnic instruments and effects.
Each preset is designed to be played with a single key press. The macro dials, macro buttons and mod wheel can change and morph the sound substantially, which makes the presets usable as performance tools as well as starting points.
Vengeance Sound says the presets can be played across the full keyboard and at any BPM, because the Avenger granular engine follows the tempo and pitch you play. The pack also includes 48 mini songs, 46 voices and 27 drum kits and drum sequences.
